Optimism in Paris: French manage to pry stalemate in EU migration policy

In principle, the EU countries agree to a distribution of asylum seekers in order to relieve the southern member states. Countries that do not want to take over are obliged to provide financial, material or personnel support to those that do. This agreement, which was signed on Thursday, breaks the long-standing stalemate over a European migration policy.
