The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW) will not oblige Dutch motorists to open their car door when getting out with the hand that is furthest away from it. That is what the ministry will answer on Thursday to questions from NU.nl. With some new car models, this so-called ‘Dutch grip’ could actually lead to motorists paying less attention to other road users.
