Customers of online stores bought food and electronics before the holiday. According to the OFD Platform, the increase in the average check for purchases of goods from the most popular categories compared to last year amounted to 5 to 41%

Online retailers reported that Russians bought the most on New Year’s Eve.

V Ozon Express RBC said that the most popular gift shortly before the holiday was the replenished Ozon certificate. Most often, it is replenished in the amount of 1 thousand to 50 thousand rubles.

Ozon Express customers were actively buying gadgets: unit sales of smartphones with hourly delivery in the period from December 27 to 31 rose by almost 70% weekly, wireless headphones – by 113%. “Directly on December 31, the bestsellers in electronics were the Apple iPhone 11 smartphone, Xiaomi fitness bracelet and smart scales, Apple AirPods wireless headphones and the Yandex.Station Mini smart speaker,” the company said.

In the Kids’ category, the best selling card games, board games, and LEGO bricks on Ozon Express. Among the books, the favorites of buyers were the new novel by J.K. Rowling “Christmas Pig” and the biography of Matthew McConaughey “Green Light”. The increase in unit sales of books with quick delivery on December 27–31 was almost 50%, of goods for children’s creativity and leisure – 84%.

For two New Year’s Eve days, more than 800 kg of salads were ordered on Ozon Express, the most popular of which are Olivier, herring under a fur coat and vinaigrette.
