If there is one band that is consistently admired in alternative pop circles, it is Animal Collective. The indie darlings make experimental electronic pop based on an almost childlike intuition. At the same time it is so appealing, accessible and experimental that their magnum opus Merriweather Post Pavillion (2007) sometimes wins the Sgt. Pepper’s of alternative pop music.
