Omikron barely visible in hospital figures, fewer over-80s died last week than expected

The Dutch infection figures continue to increase at a rapid pace, but an increase in the number of hospital patients has not yet occurred – at least longer than with previous waves of infection. Mortality in the Netherlands is also decreasing, although there is still a slight excess of mortality among people aged 80 and over.
