China is “a country where it is clearly stated that sporting success must exist,” Neureuther (37) justified his concerns. “And in my opinion they will certainly try with all means to get this sporting success. And how is it easier to eliminate competition than with a positive corona test? Nobody controls how the tests are controlled.”
Olympic Committee believes concerns are unfounded
Similar worries had previously been expressed by German Alpine boss Wolfgang Maier and Michael Hölz, President of Snowboard Germany. The International Olympic Committee and the new DOSB President Thomas Weikert currently consider this to be unfounded.
