Care location Huize PR Derks in Ruinerwold has been declared bankrupt by the Northern Netherlands court. The residential care farm offers care to a maximum of 12 clients. Care for them continues at this time, reports lawyer Elske Breeuwsma, on behalf of the curator of TRIP Advocaten.

Huize PR Derks is a residential care farm located in the countryside of Ruinerwold. Nursing home care and care have been offered in the renovated farm since 2016. “Both the foundation and the company of Huize PR Derks are bankrupt,” says Breeuwsma.

At the time of the bankruptcy, 8 clients lived in Huize PR Derks and 22 employees worked there. “Our priority at the moment is the continuation of care,” Breeuwsma explains. “In the meantime, we will see whether a restart is possible. That depends on whether parties register for this. That will become clear in the coming weeks.”

In 2020, the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate criticized the care provided and in particular the reporting of Huize PR Derks. The care location then had to make necessary improvements.
