Nuclear powers continue to expand and modernize nuclear arsenals: “Reminiscent of the climate of the Cold War”

All nine nuclear powers have modernized and expanded their arsenals, according to a report by the Swedish peace institute Sipri. The institute warns that the nuclear powers were thus putting an end to decades of efforts to reduce the number and role of nuclear weapons, just as the risks of miscalculation and escalation are increasing.
