Nordstrom brings in former Vogue journalist Rickie De Sole

The US retail group Nordstrom Inc. has acquired additional expertise for its range of women’s fashion. On Tuesday, the company announced the appointment of Rickie De Sole as Women’s Designer Fashion & Editorial Director.

In the newly created post, De Sole will be involved in various areas of the women’s fashion business, Nordstrom said. According to this, it should open up a new perspective on the product range and thus advance the business and growth plans of the retailer. In addition, she will develop an “editorial plan” for Nordstrom’s designer offering, produce related content and act as spokesperson for the topic.

De Sole most recently worked as Executive Fashion Director at the fashion magazine Vogue. In this role, she was responsible for “business initiatives and content across digital, print and social media, as well as editorial collaborations and e-commerce,” Nordstrom said. Prior to that, Del Sole worked, among others, as fashion director at W Magazine and for the Italian fashion house Prada.

“Rickie has a unique perspective on what modern fashion and luxury consumers are looking for and how they engage with products,” said Sam Lobban, Nordstrom’s SVP Designer & New Concepts, in a statement. “We believe their perspective and experience add a special element to what we do—for our customers, brand partners, and the entire Nordstrom team.”
