NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers attack the referees

The Pittsburgh Stellers suffered a bitter 10:20 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The culprits were quickly found for the protagonists of the losing team. After the game, the Steelers attacked the referee team.

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson in particular had zeroed in on the referees. The Steelers’ pass receiver made his displeasure known in an interview after the game: “I don’t care what others say. They (the referees) cost us the game,” the wide receiver was furious.

“They really called some crap, they should be punished for such horrible calls, I’m so pissed,” he didn’t hold back with his opinion.

“They wanted them (the Jaguars) to win. Everything went in their favor, every little decision,” Johnson charged. The wide receiver even went one step further: “You must have been paid really well today or something,” Johnson offered conspiracy theories.

Due to injuries, Johnson only played for the third time this season, but had his best game of the season (eight receptions, 85 yards). The fact that his performance couldn’t help win the game seems to be bothering the wide receiver a lot.

NFL: Steelers kicker also angry with the referees

However, Johnson is not alone with his opinion. Kicker Chris Boswell also vented his anger, but in a more subtle way. He posted a picture on Instagram that showed the line of scrimmage. You can see that a Jaguars player is offside, but the referees even decided that the Steelers were offside.

It was probably one of those calls that upset the Steelers. Boswell simply acknowledged the picture in his Instagram story with salmon smileys.
