News | who pulls the strings

**** One of the big questions we can ask ourselves is why do some people believe fakers. Even when the farce is so gigantic, so outrageous, that it is impossible to believe it.

this ddocumentary in three parts tells the incredible story of a man who spent ten years destroying families, stealing money and kidnapping young people under the guise that he was a British secret agent. And they believed him. He went to trial. He was acquitted on a technicality and destroyed another family with lies.

He’s still there, alive, somewhere, and the story is absolutely incredible. The documentary is less concerned with the surreal situation in which the victims live or with the absurdity of the manipulator (it was originally called The Puppetmaster, The Puppet Master) than in the pain his actions caused, as well as in the failures of the “system”.

The story is true, and that’s what makes it more incredible and otherwise more captivating.
