New Zealand will not prosecute British DJ who broke corona rules Abroad

The New Zealand Ministry of Health says it wants to deter potential offenders, but also create an environment in which people with corona are willing to cooperate with authorities. According to the New Zealand Herald, a police spokeswoman said that prosecution would not be launched until after consultation with the health ministry.

Etheridge says he misunderstood the rules. He was shocked at the news of his positive test. The DJ arrived on December 16. He had gone out of isolation after ten days, but on the ninth day he had had another corona test. The performer did not wait for the results before going out. Etheridge was due to perform at a festival in New Zealand on New Year’s Eve.

For the time being, no infections have been linked to the DJ.
