On Friday 14 January 2022, the cabinet announced during the press conference that the quarantine rules are changing. These changes have now been incorporated into the protocol.

These are the main changes in the new protocol:

If you are a roommate or close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, you do not need to go into quarantine if you:

  • You have tested positive less than 8 weeks ago, have recovered and have no complaints.
  • Has had a booster vaccination longer than 1 week ago and has no complaints.

Do you still get corona complaints? Then get tested.

Via the Quarantine Check COVID-19 you can check per situation whether quarantine advice applies.

Crucial professions

The cabinet has also announced that there may be an exception to the quarantine rules for persons working in a crucial profession and who do not fall under the two exceptions mentioned above. This needs to be worked out and has not yet entered into force. If this exception takes effect, we will inform you as soon as possible.
