New training: Gilde responds to wishes from the healthcare sector | 1Limburg

In Venray, a new MBO course will start next school year, aimed at care for the disabled and mental health care (GGZ). Gilde Training is thus responding to the need for specialist personnel from the sector.

For the nursing counselor training, the educational institute is entering into a partnership with the mental health care institution Vincent van Gogh and Dichterbij.

“The big difference with other care courses is that these students are completely immersed in care for the disabled and mental health care from the first year. The sector requires specialists of this kind who can get started right away,” explains Ellen Hoeben of Gilde Training.

That is why students are tied to Vincent van Gogh or Dichterbij from the start of their studies. “That way they quickly get to know the different target groups and departments.” Vincent van Gogh is a specialist mental health institution in the south of the Netherlands. Dichterbij offers assistance and services to people with intellectual disabilities.

Two diplomas
Students who have completed this full-time training to become a nurse counselor receive two diplomas. They may then call themselves nurses and personal social care counselors. The intention is that the students will eventually get a permanent job at Vincent van Gogh or Dichterbij.
