The discounter Kik Textiles and Non-Food GmbH has reorganized its management team. As the company announced on Friday, Markus Kallen was promoted to Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and was thus newly appointed to the management board. Alfred Glander will take on additional responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

According to the retailer, the background to the personnel decisions is the new strategy that was presented at the same time. “New branch concepts, modern data analyzes and a refined product range should focus much more on the customer and make Kik future-proof,” the company explained in a statement.

Prior to his promotion, Kallen had been the CEO of Kik since May 2020. In his new function, he will now be “responsible for all sales channels as well as marketing, CRM and digital customer products,” explained the discounter. Glander, who was already responsible for the areas of goods, supply chain, logistics and IT in the management board, will now also “take responsibility for the transformation and corporate development” as COO, said Kik.

In the future, the company will be relying on a top quartet: in addition to newcomers Kallen and Glander, CEO Patrick Zahn and CFO Rüdiger Hartmann will remain on the management board.
