New regional transport strike: fewer buses will run to and from Zoetermeer on this day

The previous regional transport strike has only just ended when the workers announce another round of strikes. This can also affect your journey from Zoetermeer.

The CNV union reports that the next strike will last five days and will start on Monday 6 February. Zoetermeer residents who travel by bus from Zoetermeer to Leiden or Delft, for example, may therefore have to arrange replacement transport. This therefore applies from Monday 6 to Friday 10 February.

Regional transport strike

The promotions may affect your bus trip from Zoetermeer. A total of 13,000 people are covered by the collective labor agreement, including the employees of Arriva, Connexxion, RET bus and EBS. In addition, the employees of Keolis, Qbuzz, Bravo, Hermes, Breng, Overal and OV region IJsselmond will stop working.

Good to know: if you want to travel by train or the RandstadRail from Zoetermeer to The Hague, Rotterdam or Utrecht, you will not be affected by the promotions. This is because the employees of NS and HTM fall under a different collective labor agreement. So they are not participating in the strike. The same goes for most city transporters.

Better collective agreement

The employees of these transport companies are campaigning for a better collective labor agreement. The demonstrators believe that the workload is too high and wages are too low.
