New categories and marketplace model: KaDeWe Group relaunches online shop

The retailer KaDeWe Group has revised and expanded its online presence. With the “integration of the website of the stationary KaDeWe department store in the KaDeWe online shop”, the company has combined “content, products and services on kadewe.de under one roof”, according to a statement published on Tuesday. In addition, the offer with the new categories “Toys, Travel and Home & Living” has been expanded to include “important ranges”.

According to the company, another innovation is the introduction of the marketplace principle. In this way, the online shop will “now also digitally display the stationary concession model,” explained the retailer. Two cosmetics brands that are already represented in the department stores are now also being sold on the online platform: “It starts with the beauty brands Diptyque and Byredo, whose make-up line is exclusively available throughout Germany on kadewe.de and in the Alsterhaus in Hamburg, KaDeWe in Berlin and in Oberpollinger in Munich are available, ”explained the company.

Managing Director Michael Peterseim explained the background to the relaunch and announced the next steps: “Our goal is to offer our customers the same variety and experience digitally as at KaDeWe, and we are continuously expanding our online offer. With the latest innovations, we are reaching groundbreaking milestones in the interlinking of our stationary and digital offer, ”he explained in a press release. “For 2022 we are not only planning to expand the online shop to include the food range, but also to connect our luxury concession partners and thus become an omnichannel luxury platform.”
