A week ago, Neukölln city councilor Sarah Nagel (37, left) blocked the large-scale raid in the luxury restaurant! Now the police and customs went out alone to work in the “New Marin” restaurant. With success! A gossip for the politics of the Left Councilwoman.

Around 30 officers searched the oriental posh restaurant “New Marin Steak & Fish” (rack of lamb, approx. 500g, 48.90 euros) on Grüner Weg around 8 p.m. on Saturday and checked several people.

After a man wanted to flee, police officers were able to pick him up a little later. He did not have valid residence papers. In addition, the emergency services found several violations – including against the Asylum Procedure Act and the obligation to identify yourself.

According to BZ information, illegal work and unclean cash management should also be investigated. A safe in the basement of the building is said not to have been opened – the correct combination of numbers was allegedly forgotten here. The operation ended around 10:20 p.m.

► City councilor Sarah Nagel had forbidden her employees from the Neukölln regulatory office to take part in controls. Even before her election, she had criticized assignments in shisha bars and Spätis as “stigmatizing”. A few weeks ago, she instructed her employees to personally determine whether they would participate in so-called joint operations.

Now the regulatory office was not there – the police and customs found what they were looking for.

District Mayor Martin Hikel (36) to BZ: “The successful control shows how much joint operations are necessary to fight crime in our city. I expect that our regulatory office will be involved again in joint operations in the future. Ms. Nagel will report on this to the district office on Tuesday.”
