Under the pretext of the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, NATO in the coming months may increase its strength near the Russian borders. Such a warning was made at the final press conference by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
At the same time, Lavrov stressed that the West is loudly declaring that “if Russia does not obey the demands” to deploy its troops on its own territory, which in itself already sounds absurd, then in the next two or three months NATO will step up activity rapid reaction forces, special operations forces near the Russian borders.
The press conference on the results of the activities of Russian diplomacy in 2021 was broadcast live by the media platform “Looking” and TV channel “Russia 24”.
During the press conference, Lavrov added that anything can be expected from the United States on the issue of sanctions, but Russia is ready for any development of events. But for your own safety Moscow will not endlessly wait for the promises of the West about guarantees.
“We know and are able to ensure our security,” Sergei Lavrov stressed.
NATO representatives at the talks said Russian diplomats that legally binding guarantees may be provided exclusively to members of the North Atlantic Alliance. And, according to Lavrov, such a philosophy undermines everything that was done before in the OSCE after the end of the Cold War. Including the principle that no Euro-Atlantic union has the right to dictate its will to all others.
