According to the company, customers of the parcel service provider Hermes were unable to deliver parcels to the provider’s parcel shops on Monday due to an IT malfunction.
The company is working on a solution to the problem, Hermes said on its website. It was still unclear on Monday evening when the problem could be resolved. Heise, among others, had previously reported about it. Hermes could not initially be reached for comment in the evening.
Behind the market leader DHL, Hermes is one of the most important German parcel service providers that is recording strong growth in times of booming online trade. The Hamburg company belongs to the Otto trading group.
