Social media still strikes. Lorenzo Musetti is at the expense of it, fresh from the defeat in the first round of Indian Wells against Richard Gasquet after only one match won in the three clay tournaments in South America (Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Santiago). A bad moment from the point of view of the results for the 2002 class, who vented himself through an Instagram story and a post on Twitter: “I think it is not healthy and correct, after a defeat, to receive so many free insults and threats against of family members and people who love each other”.

The attacks by the haters forced Musetti to limit the comments under the posts on Instagram, the latest of which was published on Sunday: “We are professional tennis players, we love tennis and we live for it – continues Lorenzo’s outburst -. But we are also people with feelings and with ups and downs, like everyone else. We work every day to improve ourselves. I’m sure true tennis fans can understand my decision regarding the restriction on comments.” While Berrettini signed up for the Challenger in Phoenix after being eliminated in Indian Wells, Musetti will be back on the field in the second round of the Sunshine Double, in Miami on March 22nd.
