Prisons have been on strike for 24 hours since yesterday evening, for the third week in a row. Most prisons have been heavily impacted, says Prison Service spokeswoman Katleen Van De Vijver. Police assistance has been requested in various penitentiary institutions because not enough people willing to work have turned up and the regime for the detainees is also being adjusted.
