Moscow wants control of private armies: Wagner refuses, contract signed with troops of Chechen leader Kadyrov

The Russian Ministry of Defense wants to bring all Russian volunteer units under its command. Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of Wagner’s well-known private army, is formal: his armed forces refuse to sign such a government contract. According to the Wagner boss, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu can already barely lead the regular troops. Another story in the private army of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, also known as “Putin’s bloodhound”: his Akhmad units have meanwhile been contracted by Moscow.
