Colosseum Dental Benelux dental practices will not be able to open their doors in the coming days. It concerns more than a hundred branches. The company, headquartered in Oosterhout, has been the victim of a cyber attack.
Colosseum Dental Benelux goes according to RTL News report to the police and have informed the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
The 120 dental practices in the Netherlands have been closed since Thursday. It is expected that these can open little by little next week. The branches in other countries were not affected by the cyber attack. The company’s website states that the site is unavailable due to an IT outage. “We are doing everything we can to be reachable again as soon as possible.”
No access to data
It is not clear what exactly happened. Staff would no longer have access to customer patient history. The company is trying to repair the systems and is investigating.
According to RTL Nieuws, the spokesperson for Colosseum Dental Benelux does not want to share information because of the ongoing investigation. He also does not want to say who is behind the attack or whether patient data has been stolen.
