The house was in the village of Nescopeck, in the east of the state. It is unknown how the fire, which completely engulfed the two-storey house, started. Three adults managed to escape the burning house safely.
According to local news channel WNEP, one of the volunteer firefighters called in to fight the blaze had a family relationship with all of the victims. “I was not able to save them, that weighs heavily on me,” he told the channel.
