Scientific size premiums from the city budget now amounts to 2 million rubles, 50 prizes are awarded annually. Researchers and developers under the age of 36 and doctors of science under 40 can apply for the capital’s awards.
The awards are given in 22 categories. For example, for research in the field of mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, humanitarian, social, technical and engineering sciences, information and communication technologies. You can also receive awards for developments in the field of biotechnology, aviation and space technology, urban infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, instrumentation, electronics, energy saving, information security.
Prizes are awarded to young scientists individually and collectively. If a group of scientists becomes the laureate, the prize is divided equally between all participants.
In total, according to the city authorities, over 5.5 thousand young scientists of Moscow announced their developments. 44.5% of doctors of sciences and 38% of candidates of sciences of the country work in the capital, 30% of Russian graduate students study. Moscow is home to 20% of R&D organizations in Russia.
