MOOChub.org is growing with new partners

MOOChub, an initiative of various online learning platforms, MOOC portals, universities and university-related associations in German-speaking countries, continues to grow. Over 550 free online courses are already available today moochub.org bundled. The 2015 from the TU Graz with iMooX, the TH Lübeck with their daughter oncampus and the Hasso Plattner Institute (Potsdam) with its portal openHPI.de, the MOOChub group experienced a significant expansion in 2019 with the KI-Campus (BMBF) and OPEN vhb (Virtual University of Bavaria). In the meantime, further partners have been won: courses from can now also be found on the platform openSAP, LEARN.cloud as well as des eGov campus.

Inviting design, improved usability

The aim of the cooperation is to use synergies in the field of online teaching and to offer all those interested in education central access to open online courses across university and national borders, be it for work, study or personal development. University knowledge on a wide range of knowledge questions is freely available on the MOOChub and offers lifelong learning for everyone. The subject areas include IT and innovation, e-government, digitization and schools, as well as the range of subjects represented by universities and colleges, such as medicine, law, humanities and social sciences, engineering and natural sciences.

The MOOChub offer can now be used even more conveniently via the newly launched website in a modern, responsive design. The new site also offers extended filter and search functions and optimized menu navigation. The improved display on mobile devices also makes mobile searching and finding easier.

Free teaching and learning materials

The partners are also working on common exchange and quality standards, are in collaborative contact with European partners and generally support the idea of ​​Open Educational Resources (OER for short). “The Corona crisis was not the first to show how important freely accessible and openly licensed digital learning and teaching opportunities are. In the MOOChub network, we have long been convinced that the future of the knowledge society depends to a large extent on transparent exchange and low-threshold access,” says the head of teaching and learning technologies at Graz University of Technology, Martin Ebner, in his role as MOOChub spokesman.
