Mona Keijzer was attacked by all of Eva Jinek’s table guests yesterday while she was not there herself. TV critic Victor Vlam watched it and was very surprised. “This conversation was polarizing.”
Mona Keijzer is under firebecause the deputy prime minister responded approvingly last week to an X-message in which the NOS is accused of uncritically copying ‘Hamas propaganda’. It was discussed extensively last night in Eva Jinek’s talk show, including with NOS News editor-in-chief Giselle van Cann.
Bridge too far
What did Giselle think when she saw that tweet from Mona? “Well, then I thought: this is going a bridge too far. We often see politicians placing a frame on the NOS, but I thought: this is really going too far,” she says in Eva.
“This is a suspicion of the intentions of the NOS and of our journalistic integrity. If someone does that once, I will not complain about it, but this happens too often. Not only in this case by Mona Keijzer, but also by other politicians. I thought it was time to draw a line.”
Mattie critical
For unknown reasons, Qmusic DJ Mattie Valk is also at the table to give an opinion. He punishes Mona. “I think it is the job of politicians to support every news and press institute. Especially in these times, we need a benchmark so that we are all on the same page.”
Eva’s table is unanimous, because the other table guests Maarten van Rossum (not from De Slimste, but the well-known former diplomat) and Ron Fresen also gave Mona a slap on the fingers.
Frontal attack
TV critic Victor Vlam finds that monotonous. “At Eva, Mona Keijzer is being attacked roundly because of her criticism of the NOS. Instead of immediately assuming bad intentions, they could also wonder at the table why part of society has problems with the NOS. This conversation was polarizing,” he writes. X.
When asked by one of his followers whether the ‘annoying’ Tom van ‘t Einde was there again, Victor answers reassuringly: “No, not this time.”
