Modefabriek canceled for January

The upcoming edition of the fashion fair Modefabriek will not take place. This was confirmed by the Dutch trade fair in a message. The reason for this is the “sudden hard lockdown” that the Dutch government announced before Christmas and which will last at least until January 14th. Modefabriek was supposed to take place on January 23rd and 24th at the RAI exhibition center in Amsterdam, but the fair sees too many risks.

“There are too many uncertainties about a possible extension of the lockdown,” explains the organization in the press release, “but we cannot guarantee that we will be in this unpredictable situation – with the rapidly spreading new virus variant Omikron, travel restrictions, quarantine regulations and Distance rules – being able to hold the trade fair safely. “

Modefabriek canceled

The Modefabriek team is sad. “We believed and hoped to the end,” it says. “In the previous editions we had to move, we saw it coming in advance. Not at all this time.” Preparations for the trade fair were well advanced: 325 participants had registered, ticket sales had started and the first steps for setting up had been taken.

Participants and visitors will now have to wait until the summer edition of the Modefabriek, which will take place on July 10th and 11th. The Modefabriek team will start preparations for this in January.

The last edition of the Modefabriek, which was to take place on July 11th and 12th, 2021, had to be canceled. The changing number of corona cases caused too much uncertainty for the trade fair to continue.
