Long-time captain of the F-League team LASB Miikka Pentikäinen has passed away at the age of 28. The sad news is told, among other things on the salibandy.fi website.
Born in 1996, Pentikäinen was promoting LASB to the league in the spring of 2016. The skipper represented the team’s colors in the Finnish premier league for eight seasons.
Pentikäinen played his last league games in the spring of 2024. In the 2024–2025 season, the player continued his career in the Finnish series in the Pelicans team.
– The Floorball Association and the F-liiga offer their warmest condolences to Miikka Pentikäinen’s loved ones and the entire LASB club community, the release states.
On Wednesday 8 January 2025, the F-League match LASB–Classic was scheduled to be played. The match has been postponed to be played at a later date.
