Another sports hero Mathieu van der Poel makes a comeback with ‘ailments’
AMSTERDAM – With more ‘ailments’ than hoped, Mathieu van der Poel makes his comeback on Boxing Day in the field during the Dendermonde cross. His back pain is still annoying, but a knee injury has also plagued him since a hard fall on November 25. The cycling star did find some distraction in the sensational world title of that other Dutch sports hero Max Verstappen. “He has changed Formula 1 with his attacking style.”
