‘Matsie klatsie’ and the ‘Pitbull’ will be in action on behalf of the Dutch team from Wednesday at the European Indoor Football Championship. We are talking about Mats Velseboer and Amir Molkarai from Heerhugowaard. The two futsal players normally play against each other, but now they compete together in Orange.
The Dutch team is classified in group A and plays against Ukraine, Portugal and Serbia. “I expect a full battle and we want to make it to the next round,” says Velseboer. The football player of Hovocubo from Hoorn is one of the many North Hollanders at Orange. Another player from our province is Amir Molkarai and he plays for FC Marlène from Heerhugowaard.
Corona
Due to the current corona measures, the group matches take place without spectators. In an empty Ziggo Dome, the Orange squad will play against Ukraine on Wednesday. “We are going to do everything we can to win that first game. Every time there is a message that the tests are positive, it is a weight of your heart,” said Molkarai.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to keep corona out of the team. Tevfik Ceyar is now in isolation after a positive test. The Dutch team is preparing for the tournament on the KNVB campus in Zeist.
