Markus Diekmann and P&C take a stake in the Bringoo delivery service

Textile retailers join the Bringoo delivery service. With the investments, the start-up is expanding its network.

Marcus Diekmann, Managing Director of the International Brands Company KG, a subsidiary of the Düsseldorf fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg, leads the consortium of trading companies. Investing: Konstantin Kirchfeld from P&C, Jost Wiebelhaus as the owner of the Frankfurt running shop, Stefan Hamann from the online shop system Shopware and Anna Weber and Jan Weischer from BabyOne.

The Hamburg-based company supplies its customers directly from the local shops without setting up their own warehouses. Until now, the service has mainly included groceries from the supermarkets Edeka, Penny, Nahkauf and Metro in Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg as well as in the Rhineland. By integrating stationary retailers, the delivery service is now being expanded to include new ranges such as clothing and books, the start-up announced on Thursday.

Omnichannel for retailers

Frank Otto and Hauke ​​Hansen, former Vice President of Amazon Europe Supply-Chain & Logistic, had previously joined Bringoo. In the future, the branches of the entrepreneurs are to be integrated into the network of the start-up. Diekmann wants to test the delivery service at P&C’s own brand Review in Berlin.

“To have sweaters, vacuum cleaners, medicines, toys or flowers delivered to your home 45 minutes after ordering online from a retailer, that’s real omnichannel,” explains Diekmann. “Thanks to Bringoo, my vision that retailers in city centers have to make their goods deliverable like pizza delivery services deliver their pizza, i.e. within an hour.”

Founded in 2020 by Hasib Khan, Robert Kosobucki and Christian Puell, the company offers a same-day delivery service based on its app-based technology platform. Retailers can use the app to digitize their entire range and make it accessible to customers. The company now employs around 100 people.
