Man with knife shot by French police at Gare du Nord train station | Abroad

The shooting happened at 7 a.m. this morning. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed the intervention on Twitter.

According to the minister, a police patrol was threatened this morning by the man with the knife. “The police used their weapon to remove any danger to themselves and the travelers,” Darmanin said.

French Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari told French radio that two officers suffered minor injuries in the incident. Images are circulating on Twitter showing the gunshots.

The identity of the victim is not yet known. Train traffic has been disrupted, Reuters reports.
