Man crosses the A50 road after accident and is hit by a car

The A50 motorway will be closed on Wednesday evening in the direction of Oss. An accident occurred between Sint-Oedenrode and Eerde in which two cars were involved.

The driver of one car ended up in a ditch as a result of the collision. She was unharmed. The other car slammed into the guardrail. The driver of that car then got out. For some unknown reason, he decided to climb over the guardrail and cross the highway. He was then hit by another driver on the other lane.

Miraculously, the man was not seriously injured and was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Detour
The road is closed in both directions. Initially, the road to Oss was closed, later the road to Eindhoven was also closed. Traffic is being diverted. Road users in the direction of Eindhoven can follow the signs for Den Bosch from the Paalgraven junction (A59, A2). Motorists to Nijmegen follow the signs for Den Bosch/Oss (A2, A59).

The handling of the accident will take until late in the evening, according to Rijkswaterstaat.
