Mammut appoints Patrick Schmollinger as head of Central Europe

The Swiss mountain sports outfitter Mammut has appointed Patrick Schmollinger as Head of Central Europe.

In his new role, which was recently created as part of a structural reform, the former competitive swimmer has been responsible since September 11th for “managing the wholesale partners and sales teams in Switzerland and Germany as well as the cooperation with the sales agency partners in Austria and Italy.” Mammut Sports Group AG said on Wednesday. In addition, the 51-year-old will “lead the Mammut EMEA retail team and, as managing director of the German branch, take on an important leadership role for the Mammut Basecamp in Wolfertschwenden.”

Schmollinger came from the protective equipment provider Uvex Sports GmbH & Co. KG, where he worked as Head of Global Sales. He previously held various management positions in the sales teams of well-known brands such as Schöffel, Puma and Speedo.

Felix Münnich, Mammut’s Chief Commercial Officer, welcomed the new addition: “Patrick brings in-depth knowledge and experience in the outdoor and sporting goods industry, the Central European markets as well as in setting up and operating a modern and effective wholesaler,” he explained in a statement. “The motivation and fighting spirit that he has in his DNA as a former Olympic swimmer will be an asset to the company.”
