A year ago, it was one of the few festivals that still got through in corona time with a sitting edition in August. The ‘normal edition’ of Mama’s Pride finally started on Saturday in Geleen.
Artists such as Karsu, ADF Samski, Thijs Boontjes, the Belgian SONS and the new Dutch talent such as POM and Kuzko will be at one of the first festivals of the season this weekend.

“We are happy that everything is possible again,” says Kees van den Berg, creative director of the festival. “Fortunate that everyone is back, together, and proud that we are still here and have set up a beautiful festival.” Mama’s Pride is a real family festival, according to Van den Berg. “We also place a lot of emphasis on presenting new talent, both locally, nationally and internationally. It is very important that this is possible again after two corona years.”

90 years
This year the festival will again take place in the jubilee Burgemeester Damenpark, which will be celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The Geleen festival is free to visit.
