Make this government madness a top priority!

The Oberspreewald-Lausitz job center sends a tasteless letter to a dead woman (60). The opinion of BZ editor Johannes Malinowski.

How little decency can an authority pretend? How little compassion? A blind man loses his beloved wife far too soon. The job center then sends her a letter with a hearing form.

Apparently, the error was recognized the moment the letter was typed, because a letter of condolence was sent out at the same time.

This story sums up the madness of the German authorities. Work by the book at all costs.

Of course, it wasn’t bad intentions on the part of the clerk responsible. But this incident shows that independent thinking can at least be questioned.

A telephone apology to the widower is well intentioned, but not enough. The head of the authorities should get in the car and personally ask for forgiveness.
