Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak stated that they started maintenance and renovation works at 11 Nisan Stadium as part of the preparations for the 2023 Turkcell Super Cup match to be played between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe in Şanlıurfa on April 7.
At the press conference he held in his office, Governor Şıldak stated that preparations were made in cooperation with institutions and organizations immediately after the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) decided to play the Super Cup match in Şanlıurfa.
Emphasizing that the excitement of hosting Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe in Şanlıurfa is felt throughout the city, Şıldak said:
“The match is a preparation process that includes many issues such as transportation, accommodation and traffic. We had a meeting with TFF officials last week. We need to take additional measures. We have also started small maintenance and renovation activities in our stadium. We are making some more improvements in the dressing rooms and stands “We will do our best to ensure that the organization is held flawlessly in our city. A delegation from our city is currently in Istanbul to discuss the details of the organization with the federation and a meeting will be held, including the officials of the two clubs. Afterwards, we will hold another Sports Security Board meeting at the beginning of next week “I would like to thank our Federation again for giving this match to our city.”
