The referendum on amendments to the constitution of Belarus will be held on February 27

Voting will take place on February 27th. The decision taken at the referendum will come into force 10 days after the publication of its results.

A referendum on amending the constitution of Belarus is scheduled for February 27. President Alexander Lukashenko on Thursday signed corresponding decree.

The document defines the wording of the question to which citizens will answer: “Do you accept changes and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus?”.

The decision taken at the referendum will come into force 10 days after the official publication of the results.

“The Central Commission for Elections and Holding Republican Referendums was instructed to organize the conduct of the referendum, ensure the summing up of its results and monitor the implementation of legislation in the relevant area,” the report says.
