At VVV, all four newcomers were on the training field for the first time on Wednesday: in addition to Nick Venema and Rayan el Azrak, who had already been recruited earlier, Sem Dirks and Richard Sedlacek also appeared.
Coach Jos Luhukay explained afterwards how Dirks and Sedlacek, who came over from (Jong) AZ on Monday on the last day of the transfer period, can be of added value to his team.
‘Always the maximum’
For example, the coach sees ‘a lot of perspective’ in left-footed central defender Dirks, who already makes an adult impression for a 20-year-old promise. “He is good on the ball, has a good understanding of the game and often makes the right choices,” said Luhukay. As for Sedlacek, the coach is pleased with his work ethic on the field. “He always does the maximum for the team”, says Luhukay, who has also seen that the multifunctional Sedlacek, like Dirks, often keeps an overview. The Czech can, among other things, fill in the supervisory role of the departed Danny Post.

Integrate
The trainer hopes that the reinforcements will quickly feel at ease in Venlo and at VVV. “I hope they integrate quickly. But I’m not so afraid of that with this group of players, it’s well put together and there is good chemistry.”
‘It can go fast’
Luhukay praises the way why Venema and El Azrak – who both scored on Sunday against Dordrecht (4-2 win) have already manifested themselves at the club in a short time. “We have seen with Nick and Rayan that it can go very quickly. Rayan trained three times last week and was already the man of the match on Sunday.”

Derby
It is realistic that Dirks and Sedlacek will make their first minutes of play for VVV next Friday, in the away game against MVV Maastricht. The derby between the numbers sixteen and eleven of the Kitchen Champion Division in Geusselt in Maastricht then starts at 8:00 PM. The game can then be followed live via L1 Radio.
