A big party. Like every January 9th, Lazio celebrated the anniversary of its foundation, which took place in 1900. Already on Wednesday evening the fans gathered in the central Piazza della Libertà, where it all began. On Thursday afternoon the party moved to the Campidoglio, in the presence of various representatives of the Polisportiva. A celebratory film was shown that traced the history of the club.

Mayor Roberto Gualtieri hosted the Biancoceleste club in the Protomoteca room of the Campidoglio. Representing Lazio are the president Claudio Lotito, his son Enrico, the general director of the youth sector, the president of the sports club Antonio Buccioni, some former footballers such as Giancarlo Oddi and Gigi Martini, the falconer Juan Bernabé, accompanied by the eagle. “We will celebrate having the awareness of having taken over a company that was technically bankrupt over twenty years ago and today has a completely different perspective”, explained Lotito, who then spoke about the market: “It’s not a question of names, we don’t do the collection of stickers. We do what is needed consistent with the resources available. Regarding the liquidity index we have a technical problem, we have to do things in a balanced way. We will see if it arrives someone, everything is possible.”

Gualtieri and Lotito also spoke about the Flaminio stadium, a stadium in the heart of Rome which has been disused for years and which Lotito wants to make the club’s new home. “We want to have 50 thousand people who identify with these battles – explained Lotito -. We have the pride of being Romans and we want to demonstrate it with facts and results. Thanks to the absolute availability of the mayor, Lazio will have the opportunity to have the pride of having our own home in Rome”. The mayor also spoke about the project: “Last year President Lotito embraced the very important and serious idea regarding the Flaminio stadium. I am very happy with this commitment, one year after that meeting that many have told how an idea has now materialized in a study and in a project that has been presented. We are already in a new phase, I can tell you that we will examine the project with the utmost seriousness”.
