Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin – This is what you need to know

The popular music festival Lollapalooza in Berlin goes into its seventh round this Saturday.

According to its own information, the festival, which is not sold out, expects more than 60,000 fans per event day. The Olympic site has been the location for Lollapalooza since 2018.

The highlights

This weekend, the event on the Olympic site will feature performances by DJ David Guetta (“I’m Good (Blue)”), the band Mumford & Sons (“Little Lion Man”), pop singer Ava Max (“Kings & Queens”) and the American rapper Macklemore (“Can’t Hold Us”) on the plan. The singer Jesse Jo Stark starts on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Festival highlights include Mumford & Sons playing Main Stage North at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Immediately afterwards, David Guetta will appear on the same stage at 9:45 p.m.

On Sunday, the headliners are Mackelmore at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage South and Imagine Dragons at 8:15 p.m. on the Main Stage North.

More than just music

Lollapalooza is known for the fact that, in addition to the musicians’ performances, there are also performances by artists and showmen throughout the festival grounds.

In addition to the “Green Kiez”, which deals with economic and social sustainability, you can buy fashion from Berlin labels at “Fashionpalooza”.

The festival should also be accessible to parents with babies. There are experiences for the little ones and their parents in a screened area at Kidzpalooza.

Arrival to Lollapalooza Berlin 2023

The festival site can be reached by S-Bahn, subway, bus or even by bicycle. According to the organizers, you should avoid traveling by car if possible.

With the S-Bahn lines S3 and S9, get off at the Olympiastadion S-Bahn station and take the Flatowallee exit for the Südtor entrance (approx. 200m). The Osttor entrance (approx. 250m) can be reached via the Trakehner Alle exit. The separate entrance for Kidzapalooza can be reached via the Pichelsberg S-Bahn station.

The Olympiastadion subway station can be reached with the U2 line. From there it is approx. 500m to the east gate entrance and 870m to the south gate entrance.

The festival can also be reached by bus routes M49 and 218. From the Flatowallee stop it is only a few steps to the stadium. With bus lines 143 and 349, get off at the Neu-Westend subway station and walk to the stadium or take the U2 one stop to the Olympiastadion train station.

There is a dedicated parking space for cyclists at Entrance A. There are no parking spaces for drivers on or near the festival site.
