It is no surprise that those who want to exercise also have to dig deeper into their pockets. 7 in 10 sports clubs have increased their membership fees by an average of 15 percent in recent years. That is a barrier for many. The Flemish Sports Federation, the umbrella organization of sports clubs, therefore advocates an annual tax reduction of 150 euros per athlete.
