LIVE | Man who called for a storming of parliament and threaten Mark Rutte was looking for ‘friendship’ Inland

Court reporter Saskia Belleman reports live from The Hague. Read her posts at the bottom of this article.

That is what the lawyer said during an introductory session in the case against 22-year-old Yavuz O., who called for the storming of parliament and wrote that he wanted to “shoot Prime Minister Rutte.” He was also looking for weapons.

Yavuz O.: „Would you have what it takes to shoot them all? Just open the window and bang.” On August 23, a threat was reported on behalf of Mark Rutte.

Moszkowicz also wants to hear the police officers as witnesses who made contact with Yavuz O through chat groups such as the Batavian Republic and Freedom without uniform. According to Moszkowicz, these so-called WOD’ers (Werken Onder Dekmantel) took the initiative for a meeting with Yavuz O.

The lawyer thinks that Yavuz O. has been encouraged and maybe even provoked and wants to be able to determine this on the basis of the witness interviews. The second meeting was audio recorded, but not the first. According to the prosecutor, that was not necessary because the purpose was only “to assess what kind of meat we had in the tub.”

On the basis of that first conversation, Yavuz O. was regarded as a suspect. He is being prosecuted for threats, sedition and intelligence gathering for a terrorist crime.

During the first pro forma hearing in his case, Yavuz O. said he regretted his lyrics and that he didn’t mean it seriously. “I’m looking for friendship, I’ve never had real friends. I shouldn’t have handled it that way, I’m very confused with myself. I said it all reluctantly actually.”
