Rolling Stones current:

Some big names in the music industry are on the Rolling Stones’ new album “Hackney Diamonds”, which was released on October 20th – including Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney. Now Keith Richards shares his experiences about working with the musicians.

The guitarist explained to Matt Wilkinson of the radio station “Apple Music 1” that he and McCartney have known each other for around 60 years. Richards thinks, “although Paul [McCartney] and John [Lennon] After having worked with us as a background singer a few times in the 1960s, it was still “about damn time” for a session together. “It was great fun playing with him. In the end I just said, ‘Well, it’s like the old days,'” the musician recalls.

The Rolling Stones founding member also has nothing but positive things to say about his collaboration with Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga on the song “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”. The recording is said to have been created very “spontaneously and organically”. “We knew Stevie was coming over, and I think Gaga only came over because she happened to be working in a studio across the hall and just walked in in the middle of a take and started chiming in,” the guitarist explains. “Playing with Stevie is always amazing and I thought the lady did an incredible job, man. “She snuck in there and took over and played with Mick as best she could and it was great fun,” Richards continued.

Richards on the future of the Rolling Stones:

The musician also talks about the rock band’s future plans. Although he wants to “recover” from “Hackney Diamonds” first, the Rolling Stones have already – more or less – firmly announced that there will be another album. The band already has a few songs in stock, but “some of them aren’t quite finished yet, they’re good, but they still need a bit of work,” said Richards in the interview.

The 79-year-old can only speculate about the distant future. Here’s what he says about a possible hologram show: “Well, I wouldn’t rule it out. I’m pretty sure it will happen. Do I want it? Well, that’s another matter. But I don’t know if I want to dwell on it that long, man. But at the same time, it won’t be my decision, right?”
