Linda de Mol has announced in a video on social media what she will make for Christmas dinner, and she has come under heavy criticism. “Why do animals have to be killed?”

Christmas is coming and that means that Linda de Mol will soon be spending hours in the kitchen of her castle in Crailo again. “What’s on my Christmas menu? I’ve almost completely figured it out. I start with a very tasty appetizer snack. It’s very simple. It’s a Melba toast and then you take slices of smoked eel,” she says. Instagram.

Soy sauce

You spread ‘very good wasabi mayonnaise’ on that Melba toast and you ‘swish’ the eel in soy sauce, Linda explains. “That sounds very lame, but it is very tasty. That will be the snack. Then I will go for something with tuna. I think I will get a nice piece of tuna and roll it completely in sesame seeds and fry it briefly.”

So first eel and then tuna. “Yes, and then there will be a soup. Think of something with wild mushrooms. For the main course I already know that I will make delicious mashed potatoes, topped with Panko and pancetta and something like haricots verts with a green salad.”

Meat or fish

Ah, mushroom soup and mashed potatoes for the main course. So will it be vegetarian from then on? No, Linda emphasizes. “I still have to think about what meat or fish is added. Noa doesn’t eat meat, so I have to make something from fish for that.”

She continues: “I can make very tasty pulled pork, but it looks so unappetizing on a Christmas plate. I haven’t quite figured it out yet. And then a cake from my favorite pastry chef. I never make desserts. I’m just not that good at that. I’m not that crazy about it, so to speak. I think that’s the least important part.”

Killed

Linda’s Christmas menu comes under fierce criticism. Her follower Femke says: “Why do animals have to be killed for a ‘nice’ Christmas dinner? The real Christmas spirit seems to me to be a dinner without animal suffering.”

Naära thinks that the fallen TV queen is making really bad choices. It’s all well and good that daughter Noa Vahle only eats fish, but according to her you can also choose other options. “Hmm eel and tuna. Twice endangered species. 👏👏”

Not paying attention

Kim also thinks it’s scandalous. “Oh well, on a page with a huge reach you can simply say that you are going to eat eel. Then you really weren’t paying attention and you missed the memo that eel is an endangered species. It is listed as ‘critically endangered’ on the IUCN Red List.”

Apparently it won’t matter to Linda, this lady fumes. “Anyway, ignorance is bliss for some, and specifically for people who can afford absolutely anything, including eating an almost exterminated species.”

Long time in kitchen

One Sigrid thinks it’s a shame that Linda spends so long in the kitchen at Christmas. “My son and I will board the plane to New York on December 24 at 7:50 am, so we will be completely surprised there during the Christmas holidays. No hours in the kitchen, but life-long memories.”

Finally, Mrs. Lien thinks that Linda is eating too much. “I feel nauseous just hearing about all that excessive eating.”
