The women from Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen ended in a draw and both missed out on a jump in the table.
The Bayer Leverkusen footballers secured a late draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in the top game of the seventh matchday of the Bundesliga. In a balanced game, coach Robert de Pauw’s team only managed to equalize shortly before the final whistle. Leverkusen temporarily jumps to third place thanks to the draw.
In the 17th minute, Bayer took the lead with a dream goal from Synne Skinnes Hansen. However, the SGE responded immediately through national player Nicole Anyomi (19th minute). In the second half, the 23-year-old turned the game around with a brace (66′). Leverkusen’s keeper Friederike Repohl could only have a shot cleared and the striker dusted off.
Shortly before the final whistle, Bayer’s Merino Gonzales scored the lucky punch after a corner (88′). Frankfurt is in fifth place with eleven points, Leverkusen is third with twelve points and misses the interim lead in the table.
