The United States and its allies launched a “propaganda campaign” against Russia, accusing it of preparing an invasion of Ukraine, such actions encourage Kiev to a military solution to the situation in the east of the country. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, according to site MFA.

Lavrov said that the actions of the United States and other Western countries encourage Ukraine to sabotage the Minsk agreements and “disastrous attempts to resolve the ‘Donbas problem’ by force.” The response of the United States and NATO to the proposed security guarantees ignores the most important points for Moscow about non-expansion of NATO and refusal to deploy strike systems near Russian territory, the Foreign Minister added.

“It was emphasized that these issues will take center stage in our assessment of the documents received from the US and NATO, which will be brought to the attention of colleagues,” the Foreign Ministry said.
