Later goal: HSV loses against Hansa – KSC also blunders against Magdeburg

Arminia remains pointless

Hamburger SV lost its first highly emotional home game after the death of Uwe Seeler. Due to a goal in added time, the big promotion favorite lost to FC Hansa Rostock 0-1 (0-0) on Sunday. Kevin Schumacher only decided this northern duel shortly before the end (90+4). The Rostock victory was still deserved.

In front of 54,500 spectators in the Volksparkstadion, HSV wore special jerseys with the inscription “Uns Uwe” in honor of the club legend who passed away on Thursday. Before kick-off, both teams laid a wreath in the center circle of the field. From a purely sporting point of view, the Hamburgers had similar problems on Sunday as they did in their flattering opening win in Braunschweig (2-0). The HSV game again lacked the pace. The strong, compact and courageous Rostockers missed several clear chances even before the late 1-0. HSV goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes had to save against Sweden’s Svante Ingelsson in the 65th minute and against Dennis Dressel in the 81st minute. The big difference to the Braunschweig game was: A week ago, striker Robert Glatzel scored two more goals. This time the 28-year-old missed two big chances in the closing stages (84’/88′).

3 goals conceded in the 1st half: KSC also blunders against Magdeburg

Karlsruher SC also lost its second game of the season. A week after the 0:5 at the start at SC Paderborn, Baden lost 2:3 (0:3) to 1. FC Magdeburg on Sunday. After the 2-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf at the start, it was the first win of the season for the promoted team. Andreas Müller (7th), Baris Atik (32nd) and Moritz-Broni Kwarteng (34th) scored for Magdeburg in the first half. KSC came back through goals from Marvin Wanitzek (63rd) and Mikkel Kaufmann (65th).

In front of 16,679 spectators at the Wildparkstadion construction site, KSC wanted to make amends for their false start – and were caught off guard by Müller’s deflected ball. After the hosts had improved in the middle of the first half, Atik raised the ball for FCM with a low shot. Shortly afterwards, Karlsruhe defender Daniel Gordon started the 0:3 with a bad back pass. In the second half, KSC coach Christian Eichner swapped the entire offensive with a triple change – and gave it a real boost. Wanitzek powerful from almost 20 meters and newcomer Kaufmann reduced to 2:3 after a nice pass from Jerôme Gondorf. In the hot final phase, however, Magdeburg brought the lead to the finish.

Arminia remains pointless: Jahn Regensburg sits at the top of the table

Jahn Regensburg has stormed to the top of the table and has exacerbated the false start of relegated Arminia Bielefeld. Regensburg celebrated a 3-0 win over East Westphalia on Sunday. For Arminia it was the second defeat in the second game of the season, and Bielefeld has not won any home games in all leagues since February 19. Regensburg, on the other hand, has not lost a point or conceded a goal this season.

Benedikt Gimber gave the guests, who had even started with four wins in the previous season, the lead with a header (45 + 3). Shortly after the break, Maximilian Thalhammer (56th) made it 2-0 in front of 18,141 spectators. Minos Gouras scored in added time (90+1) to make it 3-0. However, the decisive factor was the second goal, which came when Bielefeld briefly had a strong phase and Janni Serra (52./54.) missed two big chances to equalize. Then Thalhammer scored and the harmless hosts gasped when Fabian Klos (82’/88′) and Masaya Okugawa (87′) had another chance, but it was too late.
